December 23, 2017

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 23-12-2017

A man believed to be in his thirties has been killed after a hijacking in Lenasia, south of Johannesburg.

It’s understood Rashaad Razak was driving along Volta and Shari Crescent in Extension 10 with his baby son when he was ambushed by a group of armed men on Friday night.

Police say the men hijacked Razak and drove away with the baby still inside the car.

Razak was rushed to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Spokesperson Vincent Mashiteng says police are investigating a case of hijacking, kidnapping and murder.

“They pointed him with a firearm got him out of the car, that is when one suspect shot him on the upper body. The suspects they actually drove off and they left the hijacked Toyota Conquest with the baby inside. The baby was found and the baby was fine and reunited with the mother.”

Mashiteng says police have launched a manhunt for the suspects and have appealed to anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
