A man has been killed after he flung himself in-front of a moving train at the Lenasia train station south of Johannesburg on Wednesday, Gauteng police said.
“Around about half past three, a man who’s between 20 and 25-year-old threw himself on the railway line when the train was coming from Johannesburg to Vereeniging,” said Lenasia Police spokesperson Captain Hector Netshivodza.
“He was certified dead on the scene.”
Netshivodza said the reason for the suicide committed by the man was not known as there was no suicide note found on the body.
“The relatives were informed of the incident.”
Police have opened an inquest docket.
