Lenasia Muslim School (LMS) has reported a 99% pass rate with 80% of its learners obtaining a Bachelor’s certificate and 5 learners achieving 7 distinctions. LMA’s top achiever for the matric class of 2022 is Ammarah Patel.

“Lenasia Mulsim School is very proud of the class of 2022, who have produced exceptional results overall – results that have gone beyond our expectations in view of the challenges that these learners encountered from the very first year of the equity phase,” says LMS principal Nasreen Suliman speaking to Radio Islam.

Despite the Covid-19 pandemic that disrupted the matric class of 2022 from its equity phase, the groups managed a 3.7 percentage point increase from the previous matric year to a pass rate of 80.1%

Speaking to Radio Islam, Johannesburg Muslim School (JMS) deputy principal Rabia Bibi Mia says out of 70 learners that wrote the final NSC exams, 67 achieved a bachelor’s pass. JMS’s top-achieving learner for the year is Muhammed Shuaib Moosa.

Azaadville Muslim School and Nurul Islam School of Excellence have reported a 100% pass rate with its top learner being Aadila Lunat obtaining 6 A’s.

Meanwhile, Free State is the top-performing matric class, with an 88.5% pass rate followed by Gauteng and then KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape in fourth position.
