Lenasia Hit By A Spate of Burglaries

On Wednesday, the 3rd of August, between 08h30 & 10h30 there were two burglaries in Lenasia Extension 1.

At a home on Hummingbird Avenue, an unknown number of perpetrators got into the house through the roof and ceiling. Two cell phones and a tablet were taken. Residents were home at the time but did not confront the thieves

Another burglary took place at an unoccupied house on Cuckoo Ave. Entry was gained by breaking the burglar bars of one of the windows and forcing the door open. It’s unknown what was taken.

Recently several schools in Lenasia were burgled by thieves making with items such as laptops, computers, tablets, educational learning materials and other school equipment.

Lenasia residents are concerned about the increase in crime.
