Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 24-09-2016

Radio Islam in conjunction with the International Association for Human Values (IAHV), Lenasia Going Green (LEGG) and the Lenasia Soccer Academy (LSA) are expected to plant more then 70 trees in Lenasia.

The trees will be planted at the Lenasia Tech Grounds today as part of an environmental awareness initiative on Heritage Day.

Radio Islam’s Ismail Variawa says aim of the event is to encourage the pressing need to honour and conserve nature and also to get the youth involved in environmental awareness by turning Lenasia green.

“This is a great way for us to collectively encourage a spirit of volunteerism towards caring for our environment in the present, kindling a greater respect for Mother Earth and to make a difference for a healthy future for our coming generations.”

Variawa says trees would also plantet at various places in Lenasia South, sports grounds and religious sites.
