Police are investigating a case of house robbery after a group of armed criminals broke into a home in Lenasia, extension 7 while the family were sleeping.
Police say the home owner heard a loud noise on Thursday and when he went to investigate was accosted by three suspects.
The police’s Bafana Ndimande says the suspects fled the scene after robbing the family.
“The males ordered them to sit down on the floor and demanded jewelery and cash. An Indian male’s son walked down the stairs and one of the males fired a gunshot at him but missed. They ordered him to join his parents on the floor and he did. The males ransacked the house and they took cash, and other items to an undisclosed amount of money.”
Ndimande has urged anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the perpetrators to contact the police.
