As the country enters he festive and holiday period, the Lenasia police station says it is experiencing an increase in crimes being committed in the suburb.
The station has reported a number of incidents this last week including assaults, murder, rape, fraud, sexual offences and theft among other complaints.
Lenasia police’s Bafana Ndimande says there is a great need to reduce the crime rate in Lenasia.
“The Lenasia SAPS would like to encourage our community to register as informers so that we may be able to deal with the crime in the policing area. There is monetary rewards available for the positive information that leads the arrest of the perpetrators.”
Ndimande has urged the community to be vigilant and report any criminal activities to the police.
