Lenasia Community to Host Memorial Service for Keketso Mahlakwana

May 23, 2017

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 23-05-2017

The community of Lenasia will be hosting a memorial service for nine year old Keketso Mahlakwana who was tragically kidnapped and murdered.

Mahlakwana’s body was found last week in a veld opposite Lenz public secondary school in Lenasia, extension 11b.

The 9-year-old from flamingo primary was playing outside the school with friends on Tuesday when he was apparently abducted by unknown suspects driving a white mini bus taxi.

Memorial Organiser Kumari Naransamy has urged the Lenasia community unite in the fight against gender based violence, kidnapping and killing of children.

“We are having a memorial service for Keketso tomorrow at Saaberie Chisty Hall from 11pm to 12pm. Sadly his life was taken at a very young age. We the community would like to show our heartfelt concern of the kidnapping and killing of our kids. We do hope and pray that the kidnappers and killers of Keketso are brought to book.”

A private memorial will also be held for Keketso at the Flamingo Primary School.
