Lawley Residents Block Roads in Protest Action

November 27, 2015

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News, 2015-11-27

Residents of Lawley near Lenasia are protesting this morning, blocking roads with rubble and burning tyres.

It’s not yet clear what the residents are protesting about.

The Johannesburg Metro Police Department’s Wayne Minnaar has advised motorists to use alternate routes.

“There are currently protests and rubble and burning debris on the Old Lawley Road which passes the station. The reason for the protests I cannot confirm but motorists are advised to make use of the K43 as an alternative route.” – EWN
