The theme for Radio Islams’ recently launched 2019 Hajj broadcast is on the topic of death. It is explored as a journey to bliss. Just as the Hajji leaves the world with hope, we should leave this world with hope. Essentially, this year’s broadcast looks at the positives side of death, what awaits a mu’min.

A Hajji embarks on a journey to bliss, clothe in white just like a person who has passed away. Moulana Daya of Radio Islam explained the reasoning behind choosing the theme for this year’s Hajj broadcast. He said that “it is based on the hadith, death is a gift to the believer, which means if you live your life correctly and in accordance with the Shariah and follow the Sunnah, then at the time of death you will be going to a better place.”

This year’s Hajj broadcast includes a series of interesting discussions and interviews by Moulana Kara, called Kara en Die Kameel. He will be exploring the history of camels in South Africa, how they are slaughtered and many more intriguing facts. He said that “the camel is mentioned often in the Qu’ran and Hadith, thus we need to look further into it and its benefits”.

Many of Radio Islam’s presenters will be reporting live from Saudi Arabia to provide different perspectives of the Hajj. They include Moulana Ahmed Akoo, Moulana Sajid Timol, Moulana Junaid Kharsarney and Faizel Patel, ensuring that listeners have a lot to look forward to during the blessed and auspicious days. Interviews with the first-time hujaaj, from different countries and cultural backgrounds, will be broadcast live or via podcasts from the holy lands.

Adding a little twist to the broadcast will be the Hajj drama produced by Tufayl Patel which promises to be interesting, exciting and enlightening. The “Hajj Dilemma” encompasses a spiritual journey with emotional lessons.

Radio Islam Internationa aims to bring the atmosphere of the blessed lands and the Hajj to you, at home.
