Residents of Laudium are outraged after having no water for almost four days.
The taps ran dry on Wednesday following low pressure in the area.
Yesterday residents took to the streets and blocked the R55 entrance to Laudium hurling rocks and demanding to see Tshwane Mayor Stevens Mokgalapa.
The residents says the water crisis which has even affected Diwali celebrations be resolved immediately.
Social cohesion activist and resident, Yusuf Abramjee says despite Mokgalapa tweeting that supply would be restored overnight, the taps are still dry.
“Despite an undertaking from the mayor that water will be restored, the taps are still dry. The anger is mounting, people are battling. On Friday, the schools were closed and at this rate, we are heading for a disaster. We’re calling on the mayor to immediately ensure that the water supply is restored and to do what it takes to show leadership and unfortunately the city has let the residents down.”
Abramjee says volunteers are continuing to supply water in containers and bottled water to thousands of residents.
