Muslim visitors to the Kruger National Park will now have wudhu and salaah facilities after SANParks approved the construction of the project in the game reserve.
SANParks says Construction has already begun in Skukuza with the Lower Sabie following soon.
It says there are also plans for three more in Satara, Tshokwane and Afsaal and other national parks which would be rolled out soon.
SANParks Honorary Rangers Farouk Hassen says many visitors to the Kruger National Park have welcomed the wudhu and salaah facilities.
“Alhamdulillah in 2009 we initiated and handed in a proposal to South African National Parks head officer for the construction of a salaah and wudhu facility in the Kruger National Park. We’re very excited that the go ahead has been given.”
Hassen says they have undertaken to assist in raising the funds for the project.
“SANParks Honorary Rangers have undertaken to fund the project and we appeal to the Muslim community to and more so those that visit the park to continue donating towards the cause and hopefully Insha’Allah we can get these facilities up and going as soon as possible.”
Hassen says the salaah facilities will be predominantly used for Zuhr and Asr salaah by visitors convening between camps and those that are not staying over in the Kruger Park.
