Jamiat SA Urges Muslims to Observe Qunut Naazilah for Al-Aqsa

July 20, 2017

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 20-07-2017

The Jamiatul Ulama South Africa has urged the Imams from masajid across South Africa to observe Qunut Naazilah on Friday in dedication to Masjid-ul-Aqsa in Palestine.

Activists and leaders have called for a day of rage following Israel’s imposed extra security measures which limits the access Palestinians and Muslims have to Islam’s third holiest site after the haram in Makkah and Masjid-un-Nabawi in Medina, Saudi Arabia.

Israeli police installed metal detectors, turnstiles and close-circuit television cameras at the entrance of al-Aqsa compound after a deadly shootout on Friday in which two Israeli security officers died after an alleged attack by three Palestinians – who were themselves killed by Israeli police following the violence.

In a statement, Secretary General Moulana Ebrahim Bham says the extra measures are seen as the occupations tactics of Judaization of the Al Aqsa compound and surrounding East Jerusalem in a move to steadily wrestle control away from the recognised custodians and Waqf authorities.

“The threats to Masjid-al-Aqsa are real and it’s a matter of concern to all of us as an escalation of the situation which raises tensions with a potential of serious consequences.”

Ml. Bham says they demand that Israel ends the restrictions at Al-Aqsa which represent the collective punishment on Palestinian people and also disregards international recognised conventions
