Jackson Mthembu Passes Away from COVID-19 Related Complications

President Cyril Ramaphosa has extended his condolences to the Mthembu family following the passing of Minister in the Presidency Jackson Mthembu.

Mthembu who was 62-year-old passed away Thursday from COVID-related complications.

Ramapohosa says the country’s thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time of loss.

“It is with deep sorrow and shock that we announce that Minister in the Presidency Jackson has passed away. Minister Mthembu was an exemplary leader, an activist and life-long champion of freedom and democracy. He was a much-loved and greatly respected colleague and comrade, whose passing leaves our nation at a loss.”

Ramaphosa has extended his deepest sympathies to Mthembu’s family to his colleagues, comrades and many friends.
