Israeli snipers have shot and wounded close to 6 500 Palestinian protesters in the lower limbs in close to eight months of weekly rallies, in what is believed an attempt by the Israeli Defence Forces to maim those trying to reclaim the illegally occupied land.

Since March the 30th this year, Palestinians have massed along the border to call for a return to the lands they were forced away and displaced from due to Israel’s illegal occupation.

The rallies have turned deadly with Israeli snipers deliberately targeting the legs of protestors.

Radio Islam’s Hafez Ebrahim Moosa says the injuries inflicted were clear bullet wounds.

“What the observers have been saying that if things were to take a turn for the better in Gaza, this kind of targeting by the Israeli army will leave a lasting scar.”
