Israel has struck Gaza with multiple missiles after rockets were launched from the territory. US President Joe Biden continued a tour of the Middle East that included Israel and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Israeli military said it hit two facilities belonging to Hamas, the Islamist militant group that governs the blockaded strip. The military said that one of the targets was an underground rocket-manufacturing plant.

Gaza witnesses described the two sites struck as Hamas training camps. No injuries were reported.

Hamas has condemned Biden’s visit, and spokesperson Fawzi Barhoum said it was no coincidence that the Israeli raids transpired right after Biden visited Israel.

“This escalation, which came immediately after US President Biden’s visit to the Zionist entity, reflects the number of American support and encouragement that the Israeli occupation has received for the continuation of its aggression and also the perpetration of its crimes,” he said during a statement.

Shooters had fired at the Israeli planes, Barhoum said.

Earlier, sirens sounded in southern Israel twice to warn residents of incoming rockets.

The Israeli military said that one was intercepted, and three landed in open spaces.

No group has claimed responsibility for launching the rockets.

Israel fired missiles into Gaza last month after rocket launches from the besieged territory after a period of relative calm. It targeted Hamas military sites, but Palestinian authorities said the missiles fell on agricultural land.

On Friday, during a visit to Israel and the occupied West Bank, US President Joe Biden promised not to surrender peace efforts but offered no new proposals to restart the process.
