Radio Islam presenter and the Palestine Information Networks (PIN) Ebrahim Moosa says Israel’s Central Bottling Company (CBC) who proposed to buyout dairy and drinks producer Clove has links to a Mossad agent who was complicit in committing atrocities against the Palestinians and violence agaisnt the British.

Moosa was responding to the news that the International Relations Department (Dirco) is defending the R4.8billion offer by international consortium Milco led by Israel’s CBC.

Dirco says the deal is in line with President Cyril Ramaphosa’s investment drive.

However Moosa says CBC has a dark history.

“The current owners of CBC are actually the heirs of a certain Moshe Wertheim who was a Mossad agent previously and he was part of the elite fighting militia of the Haganah group which was responsible for the many massacres that were effected against the Palestinians as well being involved in violence against the British during the days of the mandate.”

Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS SA) was leading the charge in opposing the Clover deal.

While BDS SA says it supports investment in the country, was opposed to investors tainted by violations of international law and human rights, as Israel is.
