A new an innovative capsule for pilgrims has been launched in Makkah, Saudi Arabia to provide comfort for people arriving in the kingdom to perform Hajj.
The plastic and fiberglass capsule-shaped hotel rooms measures 220 centimetres long, 120 centimetres wide and 120 cm high.
The new equipment was launched for the first time in Saudi Arabia, in the presence of Makkah Deputy Governor Prince Abdulla bin Bandar and Deputy Minister of Haj and Umrah Dr. Abdull Fattah Al-Mashat.
Designed and manufactured by a Japanese company, the capsule was presented by the Pilgrim’s Gift Society as an economic solution during Haj and Umrah.
GDN online reports the capsules will be used especially in crowded places such as airports, railway stations, highway rest houses and other locations known for their congestions due to the big flux of pilgrims.
