Indian National Rescued After Being Kidnapped in Westonaria Last Month

Indian national, Hafiz Qasim Patel was rescued by the Anti-Kidnapping Task Team on Monday after being kidnapped a month ago from a parking lot of a supermarket in Westonaria, west of Gauteng.

 

According to police Colonel, Athlenda Mathe, a shootout occurred between the police and the kidnappers during the rescue operation. However, the perpetrators managed to escape with ransom money.

A manhunt is currently underway to apprehend the suspects.

Police are urging the community to come forward to their nearest police station if they have any information regarding the kidnapping.
