I’ve Been Fighting For A Principle, Not A Position – De Lille

August 07, 2018

Mohamed Ameen Dabhelia – 2018/08/07

Cape Town Mayor Patricial De Lille told Radio Islam that she has been fighting all along for a principle and not for a position.

De Lille resigned as the Mayor of Cape Town and will vacate her seat at the end of October.

She says that she has always maintained that she is not ‘married to any position’.

“My fight was to clear my name, and once the DA approached me and offered to withdraw the charges I was satisfied that I’ve cleared my name.”

De Lille adds that the DA dropping all charges against her, proved that they had no evidence.

“The public should ask all those who made allegations against me where the evidence is.”

The outgoing mayor says she has a number of civil litigation cases lined up because people have smeared her name in public without evidence.
