Hujjaj are Overwhelmed as the Big Day Finally Arrives – the Day of Arafah

July 08, 2022

Umamah Bakharia

As one million Hujjaj have made their way to the planes of Arafah for this year’s Hajj, pilgrims are expressing the overwhelming feeling of experiencing the journey of Hajj.

Speaking to Radio Islam International, sister Zaheera Kaka says she’s feeling overwhelmed with the scenes before her as she prepares for the Wuquf time. “So far it been very overwhelming, its also been a great experience meeting new people, making new friends, learning something new everyday, its a journey of a lifetime, its something that i would have never imagined,” she says.

In preparation for the journey, sister Zaheera says it is essential to take advice from other people who have been on Hajj before and read up on Hajj as it gives a guideline of the journey. “It shows you that you are not alone on this journey, there are others with you which makes it better,” says sister Zaheera.

Adding on, she says they have been making use of apps to help navigate their journey and a person needs to be physically mobile as there is a lot of walking required.
