The United Kingdom became the first Country to approve Pfizer BioNtech Covid-19 vaccine.
Speaking to Radio Islam Joyeeta Basu says vaccines take a long time. The regulatory authorities need to first approve of the vaccine.
They need a lot of regulatory processes, those processes were cut down from many months and years to just a few days. You also need a lot of money and funding.
The vaccine called messenger RNA (mRNA) is injected into your body and this RNA will teach our cells to make a protein which is called the spike protein that is present in the Covid-19 cell, it helps our body to produce this kind of protein and that is how it produces anti-bodies and this is what protects us when the Covid-19 enters our bodies.
