Hotel Rates & Services in Saudi Arabia to Increase with New Municipality Fee

February 14, 2018

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 14-02-2018

The Saudi Arabian Government has announced a 5% municipality fee will be applied to all existing future hotel rates and services in the Kingdom.

The South African Muslim Travel Association (SAMTA) says it was informed the fee comes into effect from the 14th February.

SAMTA says the fee is over and above the Value Added Tax (VAT) which  was implemented in January this year.

SAMTA’s Ismail Olla has urged pilgrims to contact accredited service agents to discuss how the new fee will affect the future cost of hotel rates and services in Saudi Arabia especially during Hajj and Umrah.
