The Saudi Arabian Interior Ministry has warned hefty fines will be slapped on those who enter Haram in Makkah or perform Umrah without a valid permit during the month of Ramadan.
The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reports anyone caught while entering Makkah to perform Umrah without a permit will face a fine of up to a SR10,000.
An Interior Ministry source says the new regulations will be in force until the end of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The ministry has called upon citizens and expatriates to abide by the directives to obtain a permit for the performance of Umrah and salaah at the Haram through the Eatmarna application.
Last month the Hajj Ministry announced recently that the permits for Umrah visits to the Haram and Masjid-un-Nabawi during the month of Ramadan will be issued only to those who have been vaccinated against coronavirus.
