The National Assembly yesterday adopted a motion of full confidence in Health Minister Manto Tshabalala-Msimang.
This resulted in the rejection of the original motion by the Democratic Alliance (DA),
The original motion called for a special committee to probe her fitness to hold public office.
Introducing the DA’s motion, the party’s parliamentary leader, Sandra Botha, cited a litany of failures on the part of the minister and her department.
Botha cited a list of the Ministers failures.
They included the increasing rate of still born babies at Frere hospital as well as the controversy surrounding the Ministers remarks on anti retroviral treatment.
