Hajj season is still far away, but the preparation for the journey of a lifetime takes a lot of time and effort; not only for the prospective hujaaj but also for the South African Hajj and Umrah Council (SAHUC).
SAHUC relies on many volunteers to ease the journey for those that have been invited by Allah to perform hajj and visit the holy cities of Makkah and Medina.
Would you like to be a volunteer for Hajj 1435?
Applications are now open for SAHUC’s hajj and medical mission.
The hajj regulatory body annually deploys volunteers from the Muslim community to provide services to hujjaj during the hajj period.
However, interested applicants need to comply with a strict list of criteria. ??
One of the rules is that the mission worker must have performed hajj before in order to understand the manasikh (rituals) of hajj.
Another prerequisite is that applicants must be available for a minimum period of six to eight weeks during the hajj season.
All applicants will be taken through a thorough interview process and a selection. ?
Applicants must also complete and forward the following: ?-
- Complete Curriculum Vitae (CV)?-
- Letters of recommendation from organizations that you may have served or still serve.
- Copy of valid passport – passport must be valid for at least six months after the return date. ?
- Copy of Hajj Visa – or an affidavit stating that the fard hajj was performed. ?-
- Female applicants will be considered for the medical mission only and must have the necessary qualifications. ?-
- All applicants must subscribe to the tenets and principles of the Ahle Sunnah wal Jamah.??
