February 05, 2018

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 05-02-2018

Following a meeting with the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia, The South African Hajj and Umrah Council (Sahuc) says all visa’s issued by the embassy will be in electronic format as opposed to the previous hard copy documents.

Sahuc’s says the process of submitting passports however remains the same.

The hajj body together with airlines and accredited hajj operators met with embassy officials in Pretoria last week.

In a statement, Sahuc’s Moaaz Casoo has urged hujjaj to adhere to the protocols.

“All applications for hajj and Umrah visas must be submitted to accredited operators only for submission to the Saudi Embassy.”

Casoo says the Ministry envisages to have a more efficient turnaround time for issuing visas together with enhancing security measures.
