Glimpse of Benoni Ijtima (Day 1) and it’s purpose

March 25, 2016

Habib Bobat,  2016-03-25

The Ijtima is an annual event which sees the congregation of thousands of people from different walks of life. Scholars, students, Businessmen, professionals, doctors, lawyers and ordinary people.

The Ijtima this year for the Gauteng and surrounding regions is taking place in Actonville, Benoni, in the East Rand.

The proceedings of the day commenced with the Jummah lecture, which was delivered by the well known scholar Moulana Sulaiman Khatani of KZN. He centred his hour long message around three important points

1. The Muslim Ummah (nation) may only find solutions to its problems in linking itself with Allah (S.W.T) and his Messenger (S.A.W).

2. The Ummah once again needs to link itself to the Masjid.

3. Through the establishment of Salah, this Ummah will thrive.

Moulana Khatani ended off his lecture by reminding the congregation of the objectives of the Ijtima by quoting the great scholar Mufti Zainul Abideen (R.A)

The purpose of the Ijtima is to create the concern for getting the last person that’s to come into this world to Jannah. And secondly to make Taubah and to change our lives.

Over the next two days, special programmes will also be conducted.

Saturday
Professionals’ Program – After Zuhr

Sunday
Ulama Program 10am to 12pm
University Students’ Program 10am to 12pm
Old Workers Program after Zuhr

There are more than 100 million people across the globe involved in the effort of Tabligh, which is an effort to link the creation with its creator and to bring the people on to the life of the final Messenger Muhammad (S.A.W)

The Ijtima will end on Monday morning with the concluding Dua.
