Four Injured in Knifing Incident Outside Charlie Hebdo Former Offices

September 25, 2020

Four people have been injured in a knife attack in Paris outside the former offices of French  magazine Charlie Hebdo. Al Arabiya reports that the Paris police department said two of the victims were in a critical condition. The magazine’s current address is reportedly being kept secret for ‘security’ reasons.

A suspect was detained close to the scene of the incident, while, according to Al Arabiya, a second person has also been now detained, although it is as yet unclear for what reason.

France’s so-called anti-terror prosecutors’ office has opened an inquiry into the incident. The suspects are to be questioned over “attempted murder related to terrorism” and “conspiracy with terrorists”.

The trial is currently underway in Paris for the alleged accomplices of the 2015 Charlie Hebdoattack which followed the magazine having printed grotesque caricatures of Prophet Muhammed (Peace be Upon Him).
