Four people have been killed and two others injured following a shootout on the N12 near the Putfontein turnoff in Benoni this morning
The details surrounding this incident are not yet known.
Paramedics say the 4 dead are believed to be suspects, while the injured are law enforcement officials.
ER24’s Russel Meiring local authorities are on scene for further investigations.
“Paramedics found two men, believed to have been suspects, lying inside of the vehicles. Unfortunately, both men had already succumbed to their gunshot wounds. Two other men, also believed to have been suspects, were found lying a short distance away in the veld. These men had also sustained fatal gunshot wounds and were later declared dead.”
Meiring says two law enforcement officers who sustained minor injuries were treated and transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
