Forty-Eight More People Succumb to COVID-19 in South Africa

Forty-eight more people have also died in South Africa after contracting the coronavirus, pushing the national death toll to 53,711

The Health Department says another 1,325 more infections were also picked up over the past day, pushing the country’s known caseload since the start of the pandemic a year to more than 1 565,680.

Our recovery rate is 95.2% with 1,489,457 people having recuperated from the virus.

On the vaccination front, more than 292,000 healthcare workers have so far received the jab.
