A former Serb policeman accused of taking part in the killing of 51 non-Serb civilians in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 1990s, has been arrested by Bosnian police. 50-year-old Dusan Culibrk has been accused of participating in the killing of 44 Bosniak (Bosnian Muslims) and Croat civilians. They had been taken in July 1992 from the infamous Omarska camp, where they had been detained illegally. They were to be part of an exchange. Al Jazeera reports that Omarska was one of four Serb-run detention camps.

Two and a half decades after the war ended, many suspected war criminals are still at large. 100,000 people had been killed.

Al Jazeerah reports that Culibrk, was a member of the Serb-run reserve police force in the town of Bosanska Krupa. He, along with others, brought the group to the Lisac pit and shot them. Their remains were discovered and exhumed from the pit in 2000. Culibrk is also alleged to have intercepted and killed seven Bosniak civilians on their way to the town of Bihac. Their remains were also found in the Lisac mass grave.

About 7,000 Bosniaks and Croats had been held and tortured in Omarska. Hundreds were killed in the camp as part of the Serbian ethnic cleansing operation. According to survivors, usually about 30 and sometimes as many as 150 men were singled-out and killed in the camp every night.
