The lawyer for Reshall Jimmy who died when his Ford Kuga burst into flames says he is disgusted with the way the car manufacturer has dealt with the situation.
Jimmy was on holiday in the Wilderness with his family when his vehicle caught alight in December 2015.
Ford announced a safety recall of the 1.6 Kuga on Monday due to overheating issues, but maintains that Jimmy’s death is unrelated.
Attorney Rod Mantono told Radio Islam that despite the media fury surrounding the Kuga, Ford has failed to take responsibility and continues to deny liability for Jimmy’s death.
“We’ve attempted contact with them over a considerable period of time. They displayed an attitude that basically they have more money than we would ever have should we go to court, they have better experts than we have, so should we not comply with supplying them all the e3vidence in our possession, that they would no longer entertain any discussions with us.”
Mantono says he is also representing about 31 other Ford fire victims to file a class action lawsuit against the motoring company.
