Fikile Mbalula Deployed to Luthuli House as Head of Elections

February 28, 2018

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 28-02-2018

The African National Congress (ANC) has appointed former Police Minister Fikile Mbalula as the Head of Elections at Luthuli House with immediate effect.

Mbalula was sacked by President Cyril Ramaphosa in cabinet reshuffle on Monday night which also saw nine other ministers lose their portfolios.

In a statement the ANC says the appointment Mbalula follows a decision of the special National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held on Sunday, to deploy several Chairpersons of committees to expand and strengthen the organisation’s capacity to execute the tasks and demands of the current phase of the revolution.

The ANC says it is confident that Mbalula’s leadership will assist the party  towards a landslide victory in the 2019 National Elections.
