FBI says Vegas Shooter Had No Link with Terrorist Groups

October 03, 2017

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 03-10-2017

FBI Investigators have so far found “no connection” between international terrorist groups and a mass shooting in Las Vegas that killed at least 58 people and injured more than 500.

Without providing any evidence, the Islamic State or ISIS has claimed responsibility for the Las Vegas attack saying the shooter was a “soldier” who had converted to Islam months ago.

The terror group released two statements on its Aamaq news agency on Monday, hours after the shooting claiming it was behind the shooting.

Police say the attack was carried out by Stephen Paddock, a 64-year-old retired accountant.

Paddock opened fire on a crowd attending a Las Vegas concert from the 32nd floor of a Mandalay Bay Hotel yesterday morning.

In a brief statement, FBI special agent Aaron Rouse said the bureau had “determined to this point no connection of an international terrorist group”.

“As this even unfolds, we have determined to this point no connection with an international terrorist group. As this investigation continues, we will continue to work with our partners to ensure that this is factually and thoroughly investigated.”

The Sunday night Las Vegas mass shooting is officially the deadliest in US history.
