Ex-Lenz High Students Aim to Make a Difference for Future Learners

July 23, 2018

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 23-07-2018

A Non-Profit Organisation created by past students of Lenasia Secondary School has taken the initiative to uplift and assist learners in order to improve student outcomes at the institution.

The Power of 1000 says it caters for enrichment programs at Lenz High with a long-term view to extend the initiative into the broader community of Lenasia.

About 1,200 students and their parents were exposed to a careers day at Lenz High today with more than 20 organisations to guide the learners on a fulfilling career path.

The Power of 1000’s Urvashi Bhika says the career day is about planting the seed of thought in the mind of a child through opportunities of learning, engagement and exposure to bring about the best in them.

“It was encouraging to witness the enthusiasm from most of the pupils as they moved from table to table asking questions. If we made the difference to even ten children out of those 1,200, than we have accomplished our mission.”
