Eskom says there is a high risk of load shedding this weekend and has urged Gauteng residents to check their schedules to prepare for the outages. 

The power utility says the rolling blackouts is a result of a lack in capacity.

It says it’s engaging with customers who have critical loads and events to work on alternative ways to keep the lights on.

“Customers are advised to keep checking their load shedding schedules on the Eskom or municipal website and plan on the assumption that load shedding will take place.”
