Eskom has announced that load shedding has been suspended saying emergency generation reserves have sufficiently recovered overnight.
The power utility implemented load shedding on Friday after it had been hit by a number of unforeseen breakdowns.
Eskom had implemented stage two load-shedding on Saturday.
The power utility has urged the public to continue using electricity sparingly saying the power system is still severely constrained.
“We will communicate timeously should there be any significant changes to the power system. We currently have 8 229MW on planned maintenance, while another 10 661MW of capacity is unavailable due to unplanned maintenance.”
Eskom says teams are working around the clock to return as many of the units to service.
