As the cold front makes landfall in several provinces across the country, Eskom has announced that it will be implementing Stage 2 load-shedding from 4pm Tuesday afternoon until 5am Wednesday morning.
The power utility says there were further breakdowns of generating units at Kriel, Amot, Majuba and Tutuka Power Stations over the past 24 hours.
” Load-shedding will assist to replenish the emergency generation reserves which has been used extensively over the past three weeks to avoid load shedding during the day.”
Eskom says there is also a high probability of load-shedding for the rest of the week and has urged South Africans to use electricity sparingly.
