Energy Dept Announces Petrol Price Hike for May

The Energy Department has announced the price of all grades of petrol will increase by 54 cents per litre from next month.

The prices of different grades of diesel go up by 1 cent per litre while illuminating paraffin will increase by 3 cents per litre.

The price of LP gas increases by 84 cents per kg.

The Energy department says the main reasons for the fuel price adjustments are due to the higher Brent Crude oil prices during the period under review including the Rand depreciating on average, against the US Dollar.

South Africa’s fuel prices are adjusted on a monthly basis, informed by international and local factors.
