Gauteng residents say they experienced two earth tremors across Johannesburg lasting just a few seconds.
Residents from Germiston, Boksburg and Lenasia say they felt the earth shake for a second time just after 8:30pm yesterday, hours after the first tremor.
There has been no official confirmation of the magnitude.
Pastor Napier from Lenasia Tweeted: “A tremor was felt here in extension 3 Lenasia now. Everything just shook for a few seconds. Any idea as to what caused this.”
It’s believed the tremor may have been a mine blast.
Reports have emerged that people in the North West province also felt the tremors.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or damages.
