Devland Cash & Carry Owner Released & Reunited with Family

August 29, 2018

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 29-08-2018

Gauteng Police say a Johannesburg businessman and owner of Devland Cash & Carry who was kidnapped has been released and reunited with his family.

Shiraaz Gathoo, who was kidnapped on the N12 highway in March this year was released early Wednesday morning.

His vehicle was found on the busy freeway.

The police’s Nomvula Mbense said: “Shiraaz was found and he is with his family right now.”

Secretary General of the Jamiatul Ulama South Africa Ml Ebrahim Bham says the release of Gathoo is exceptionally good news.

“We make dua that Allah reunite him with his family in the best possible way and grant him the best of everything and Allah reward him for all the difficulties he had to endure.”

Ml Bham says for Gathoo to be abducted and be away from his family for such a long period of time is a blot on the South African law system.

“We make Dua that Allah grant that system the ability to be able to bring safety and security to its citizens.”

In a statement the Gathoo family has thanked Allah and also the public for their support during the ordeal.

“The family is greatly relieved that he is back, but there is a long road ahead,”

The Gathoo family has urged the public and media to respect the family’s privacy at this time.

Statement from Gathoo family.
