Woolworths fresh products have come under scrutiny after another customer has come forward to report a dead insect discovered inside a pack of noodles she bought from the retailer.
According To Eye Witness News, Dominique Ford and her mother were forced to throw out a packet of noodles they bought at a Woolworths branch at the Rock Cottage Shopping Centre in Honeydew after they found what looked like a cockroach inside it.
“My mom poured the noodles into the bowl and she saw the bug. She basically had to scrape out all the noodles because she was worried about what was going to be in there,” said Ford.
Woolworths has responded to the latest incident, saying healthy farms attract insects and other wildlife that may slip through its extensive quality checks undetected.
At the weekend Dirk Steenekamp discovered a dead frog in his salad. He vowed to “never again” shop at Woolworths.
