Communication & Digital Technologies Minister Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams to Address Drone Conference in Durban

Communication and Digital Technologies Minister Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams is expected to address the commercial drone industry that will converge at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli ICC in Durban.

This is the largest annual drone industry event in the continent, Drone Conference brings together industry thought leaders and government to take stock on this young and dynamic industry.

This year’s programme content has been developed under the theme “Redefining the Future of Work with Drones 4.0”

Minister Ndabeni-Abrahams says her department was given a daunting task of leading the country into a new digital age when President Cyril Ramaphosa ask us to oversee the work of the 4th Industrial Revolution Commission.

“Drone technology is at the heart of this Revolution and we are working hard to future proof our young people with the necessary skills sets. I will be using the Drone Con 2019 platform to reiterate our call to action to build the next generation of drone pilots and data scientists.”

Drone Con 2019 will cover key topics like the regulatory environment, skills development, SMME support, precision agriculture and will culminate in a Design Thinking Workshop for smart city use cases.

The exhibition will also showcase the latest in drone technology that are used for various missions like security, agriculture and inspections among others.
