Social activist Yusuf Abramjee has called on members of the Muslim community to join a mass Jumu’ah salaah (Friday prayer) on the lawns of the Union Buildings in Pretoria.
Several civil society organizations including the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation, Save SA, and Outa amongst others have joined forces in a collective call for President Jacob Zuma to resign, or be removed by the governing party.
Abramjee says the organizations will be marching on the Union Buildings.
“We will have the main Friday Jumu’ah prayers at 12.30pm on a section of the lawns. We appeal to the Muslim community to join in. It’s time for us to unite and take a stand.”
Abramjee says its also time to pray for a stable, corruption free SA and to show the world the power of the people.
