Boy (4) killed by motorist, Walkerville

A four-year-old boy was killed after being run over by a car in Walkerville, Gauteng, as he tried to cross the road.

Colonel Dimakatso Sello from the De Deur police released a statement saying that members had attended the scene of the accident on the R82 road, next to Apple Orchard. According to the statement, on arrival, the police found the child lying on the roadside.

Police allege that the child was crossing over to the other side of Walkerville Road when a car struck him. He was declared dead on arrival after being rushed to the local hospital.

The police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.

According to WhatsApp posts, the young boy was the son of Hafez Masood Kaka, grandson of Hafez Muhsin Nanabhai of Warrenton. He is also the grandson of Dr Solly Kaka, the brother of Ml. Muhammad Kaka of Jamiat Lenasia.
