Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News, 2014-09-05

A body has been found in the backseat of a car that was apparently set alight early on Friday morning near the Rietfonein Fire Station in Lenasia, south of Johannesburg, Gauteng police said.

The gender of the deceased was not yet known as the body was burnt beyond recognition, said Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela.

“The incident happened around 3am. The car was seen burning and police were alerted,” he said.

“We found a body of a person in the car. We opened a murder case, and we are trying to verify the person’s identity.”
