Benoni Butchery Shootout Leaves One Dead & Another Wounded

A shop owner has been killed and a customer wounded following a shootout in Benoni East of Johannesburg.

Its understood three armed suspects entered the Benoni butchery yesterday and opened fire.

The police’s Nomsa Sekele says they are investigating s case or murder and attempted murder.

“As they entered the butchery the owner approached them to assist and they started firing. A female customer was caught in the middle. The owner was certified dead on the scene while the female customer was rushed to Glynwood hospital.”

Sekele says the motive for the shooting is not yet known and no arrests have been made.
