Bakery Owner Apologizes to Durban’s Muslim Community After a Horrific Error by Employee

January 17, 2019

Radio Islam International – 2019/01/17

The owner of ‘The Baking Pan’ in Durban has apologized whole heartedly to the entire Durban Muslim Community for the huge error made by one of its employees on Tuesday.

In a post which went viral on the Durban Muslims Facebook page, admin Mohammed Mall posed as a potential customer, wanting to order a cake for his father’s 60th birthday with a request to add alcohol to the cake. Shockingly, this was agreed to by the employee, even though the establishment is certified Halaal by the Halaal Foundation of South Africa.

Prevan Naidoo, the owner of ‘The Baking Pan’ met with Mall on Thursday.

Mall told Radio Islam that the owner apologized on behalf of the staff member with the assurance that the necessary steps will be taken to rectify the matter.

“He, himself was shocked to hear the recording and simply wants to correct the error.”

Mall says whilst the Islamic Watchdog Movement exposes those guilty of foul play, the aim of the movement is to correct the wrongs and not to demolish establishments.
