Azaadville Man Killed, Son Wounded in House Robbery

A 65-year-old man believed to be a senior member of Crescent of Hope has been killed and his 29-year-old son wounded after they were shot at their home in Azaadville, west of Johannesburg.

Its understood two armed suspects broke into the home in the early hours of this morning while the family were sleeping.

The suspects tied up the family demanding cash and valuables.
 
The police’s Rebecca Phiti says nothing was taken from the house

“They went straight to the room of the grandfather and demanded money. Its whereby the son heard from his room and he came screaming. When he screamed, the suspect took out the firearm and shot the son. The son didn’t die. They then pointed at the grandfather with the firearm and they shot him and he died on the scene.”

Phiti says they have opened a case of murder, attempted murder and house breaking.
